Country Estate & Pool House

When a longtime client found a property where she could keep her horses, she called on my mentor, Donald Ratcliffe, who had already designed a large renovation for her. This country estate and pool house became his last project. I worked alongside both of them through the entire design process, and it was an honor to complete the home with her after he passed and see her vision through.

Every material is the real thing: Butler stone, slate and copper roofs, and reclaimed French hardwood floors. Inside, hand-troweled plaster walls, timber beams and arched openings give each room an Old World warmth. The client was wonderfully particular, and it was a pleasure working alongside her through all of the details.

I loved this home, and this client will always hold a special place in my heart.
